Rain on the way, so it's "out from under the trees" for Holly

Rain on it's way means a trip to the training track for Holly. Holly (now 5 1/2 months old) and her mom have been placed, literally, in the middle of the action. Into a giant paddock within a race training track that surrounds them. Plenty of room to grow and to begin exposure to racing every morning before the sun rises.

Phar Lap's Death Confirmed Accidental

Forensic scientists in Melbourne, Australia say champion Australian gelding Phar Lap died of arsenic poisoning, solving the 75-year-old mystery. Notebooks kept by Phar Lap's handler Tommy Woodcock, obtained by Museum Victoria, show the horse was administered tonics and ointments containing both arsenic and strychnine. Now proven to be an accidental overdose, speculations of a conspired death may rest.

This 1984 Film, "Phar Lap" is a favorite.

HOT! HOT! HOT!

100+ degrees during the afternoons this week.

The rails of the fences are too hot to touch.
Cool water is the name of this game.

At her new home, Holly continues to attract everyone to her stall, all hours of the day. People love to watch her no matter what she's doing.

THE MOVE

Holly and Jewel have moved to another location! Nearer the beaches, a stall under the shade of an oak tree is perfect for the coming Summer heat (104 at the stable today). The morning of the move will start the pictures, as Holly scampers around her old pasture "one last time". Upon arrival at her new place, some yummy food is waiting for them. A nap in the shade finishes their early afternoon.
